The Cruvee Directory has been carefully crafted to make it easy to use and extract the information on its pages. By using semantic markup standards such as microformats on many pages, we enable you to use web browser plugins to quickly extract information such as winery location/contact details, wine listing and product information, and digital media references.
For example, if you have the Operator add-on installed in your Firefox browser, you can add winery location information as a contact in your computer's address book with a single click. The screen shot below shows how the Operator add-on detects all locations embedded on the page and provides actions to perform on those locations in its toolbar.
Besides location/contact information on the winery detail page (hCard), product (hProduct) and digital media (hMedia) references are marked up on all wine detail pages.
There are microformat plugins for other browsers including Internet Explorer and Safari. In addition, built-in support for microformats are slated to be included in many browsers in coming versions.
If you're reading this, you're a technical type, and are considering building software to parse Cruvee Directory pages to extract information, please stop and see our API. It was built for you!
